Fondue is so fun! There is just something so exciting about sitting around and dipping all your favorite things into a a delicious fondue recipe.
We love this gruyere cheese fondue, but we have become big fans of chocolate fondue. This chocolate recipe is requested for Valentine's Day, New Years, and other special occasions.
And I happily oblige making it because hello! It's soooo easy.
I really don't think you'll find another simple fondue recipe than this one.
HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE FONDUE
All you need to make chocolate fondue at home is 1 Giant Symphony candy bar, ½ cup heavy whipping cream, and a small slow cooker like this one.
Put both fondue chocolate and cream into the slow cooker or fondue pot. Heat for 1 ½ hours on the low setting until everything is melted.
Switch the setting to warm until you are ready to serve.
WHAT KIND OF CHOCOLATE FOR FONDUE
Like I said, our favorite best chocolate for fondue is a giant Symphony Toffee & Almonds candy bar. It has just enough of a rich, decadent flavor. The almonds are quite small and you won't even really notice them, so don't let the nuts scare you.
However, you can use regular milk chocolate for fondue, too if you want more of a basic flavor.
DIPPERS FOR CHOCOLATE FONDUE RECIPE
While you're chocolate dip is heating, prepare your fondue dippers. These are some of our favorite things to dip in fondue, but of course, doesn't anything dipped in chocolate taste wonderful?
- fresh strawberries
- angel food cake, cubed
- fresh pineapple
- marshmallows
- long pretzels
- donut holes
- bananas
- rice krispy treats
- vanilla cookies
Just be sure to have plenty of dippers to for your slow cooker fondue.
BEST FONDUE POTS
You certainly can use an official fondue pot. This Cuisinart Electric Fondue Pot is the #1 best seller on Amazon with nearly 3,500 ratings, so that's saying something.
However, if you don't have an electric fondue pot, don't let that stop you from making this easy chocolate dessert.
I would love a fondue pot someday, but for now, a small slow cooker like this one works just fine.
