No-Fail Pie Recipes You’ll Love
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I thought I’d share our favorite pie recipes that we love! These pies are relatively simple to make, don’t require fancy equipment or ingredients, and won’t take you all day to make! Because who has time to spend days on pies when there are other glorious Thanksgiving foods to make like Fairy Rolls, Raspberry Honey Butter, and Rainbow Jello?
First, let’s start with pie crusts!
This is my go-to pie crust. I love that it doesn’t call for shortening (not that pie is healthy anyway, haha.) For a home-made crust, it’s simple and can be made in advance. Recipe here.
Since I didn’t like birthday cake growing up, I’d usually choose a pie. And this Chex Crunch Ice Cream was my pie of choice most often. Oh, and it can be made in about 10 minutes!
If you love chocolate chip cookies and you love pie, meet the chocolate chip cookie pie. Chances are you have all the ingredients in your pantry. Mmm. So simple, but it warms the soul.
If I had to eat one pie for the rest of my life, this blueberry sour cream crumble pie would be IT. My friend Emily shared this pie recipe when I needed a delicious pie to take to our Thanksgiving Eve Pie Night tradition. I’ve never looked back. I make it every Thanksgiving. I love that it tastes gourmet, but doesn’t take hours in the kitchen to prepare.
My sister-in-law Rachel brings this pie to Thanksgiving each year and it’s a winner! The creamy lemon flavor is delightful and refreshing. Another favorite at our house! Here’s the recipe.
Not a fan of Pumpkin Pie, but like pumpkin? These mini, lightened-up pumpkin creme pies are healthier and so quick to make! And the mini pies are just too adorable.
If you love bananas, chocolate, caramel and super decadent desserts, you’ll love this Banana Toffee pie, or banoffee as some call it. Here’s the recipe.
Easy Homemade Chicken Pot Pie
Okay, so you’re probably not looking for a savory pie, but since we’re talking about pies, this is another favorite! Get the easy recipe here.
Calling all peanut butter lovers! Another no-bake pie to add to your collection. If you like peanut butter and simple, this is for you! Here’s the recipe.
Another no-bake pie that kids can help make! Cookie Dough Pie for the win!
Lattice tops are way easier than you think to make. This tutorial will make you a lattice-top pro!
My lack of picture of our favorite mud pie should not deter you from adding this to your recipe box. Mud Pie is a family favorite for as long as I can remember. It can be prepared in advance, and what’s not to love about Oreos, ice cream and hot fudge combined into one delicious pie dish.
- 1 family-size package Oreos
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 quarts vanilla ice cream
- hot fudge
- Crush Oreos in a blender, but make sure you don’t blend them too fine.
- Stir in melted butter until well-combined and crumbly.
- Press half oreo mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 pan.
- Scoop vanilla ice cream onto crust.
- Drizzle hot fudge on top. Make sure your hot fudge is runny, but room temperature so it doesn’t melt the ice cream.
- Add remaining crushed Oreo mixture on top of hot fudge.
- Freeze at least 4 hours, but overnight is best.
