Oh hello everyone! It’s been a little while since I’ve blogged. Have you missed me? I’ve missed you. Between lots of family birthdays, Easter, sick kids, and warm spring weather, I haven’t had much time to sit down to blog. But that doesn’t mean I’m giving up on you. I still have lots of festive things brewing in my mind that I can’t wait to share, including a new project I’ve been working on.
One thing I’m constantly debating over and over is how to keep things real here. I love finding and making life beautiful and festive, because I think it’s the little things (such as a festive touch here and there or a celebration for even the littlest thing) that become the big things and what’s remembered. But, I also don’t want to put off the facade that our life is perfect, that we are always partying, or that celebrations have to be “pin-worthy” to be successful. Although heaven knows I love a beautiful tablescape or themed party.
So, I’ve decided every now and then to throw in a So Festive At Home post. I’ll include happenings here at home, so you get a glimpse of what our life is like outside all of the celebrations we like to get ourselves into. And to make this blog a bit more personal.
To start off, let me introduce you to my family. When I started this back in 2009, it was just my husband and I. Now, we have two children, Blake and Evelyn who keep us on our toes!
Even though we didn’t go to our regular church meetings on Easter due to General Conference, a worldwide conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I still made my family get on their Easter best after being in PJs all day to get our traditional photos. How mean am I? Well, that’s just the way life is. I know photos like these will be treasures in the years to come.
I think holidays are so much more fun with children! They get the biggest kick out of little things like bunny napkins and hidden eggs. Oh to be a child again!
I hope you had a wonderful Easter as well!
More At Home posts coming your way. And if there is anything you’d like to know, ask away!!
