My baby girl turned 1 last month. We've always called her Little Miss Evelyn and I've always loved the Little Miss books. So I knew I had to do a "little party" for her for her first birthday. My general rule for birthdays is that I don't want to spend the entire day preparing for a party (instead of spending time with the birthday person), so I got as much ready ahead of time as I could.
We had little foods that she would like: little pulled pork sandwiches, little noodles (homemade mac n' cheese) with little forks, little drinks, and little cupcakes. I made a little cake for her to eat and boy, did she devour it up like there was no tomorrow.
We had just a few presents for her and watched a little slide show of her. I can't believe it's already been one year!
^the first thing she did when she woke up was find quarters in her birthday shoe and then it was off to play with balloons!
I'm so grateful for such a sweet, sweet little girl in my life.

(I'm Hollie's friend and love to do parties as well).
Do you have a go to cake recipe you do for their first birthday? Do you do it healthy at all? So fun to see your website.

For my kid's first birthdays, I usually do a box cake because it's quicker and simpler! But instead of making an entire cake for them, I make a mini cake for them to smash. I don't think they need an entire cake to eat after having no sugar for the first year! If you make a cake from scratch, you could do a banana cake with some wheat flour to make it healthier. So happy to have you here! Hollie just loves you!
