Save yourself some stress and pick out your Halloween costumes now! We always pick a night to hit up a local thrift store as a family and scour the place for ideas and inspiration. I'm so much happier when I get the Halloween costumes done early.
Here are a few of our previous years' DIY Halloween costumes. And by the way, we did them all for under $25 for the whole family. Starting now will help you pull them off cheaply, too!
2012: 3 Amigos

How we pulled it off: clothing was thrifted or from our closets, spray painted sombreros, added silver design with DIY glitter glue, and used a scrap of red fabric we had for ties.
2013: Waldo and His Family
How we pulled it off: thrifted Waldo shirts and hats, added masking tape to the other hat, and dollar store glasses with glass punched out.
You're going to have to wait until Halloween for the reveal of ours, but I will give you hint. It starts with a D and ends with E. (This may be the last year my little guy will let me pick out his costume for a family one, so I'm taking advantage. 🙂
