I’ve been taking a much needed summer break from this blog this month, but I didn’t want to miss out on participating in a fun Blog Hop hosted by Or So She Says. Did you know I’m a regular party and holiday contributor over there? Well, I am! It’s been lots of fun to share easy and festive ideas to all the Or So She Says readers.
What inspired you to start your blog (or shop?)
I’ve shared my story a few times throughout the years, but this blog was started in honor of my mom. Although she passed away from cancer when I was 15, she made made life fun. Without a lot of money. She was not a “Pinterest mom,” but found simple ways to make occasions big and small festive. My goal is to share simple ways to celebrate, to inspire any one to make life a little more fun and festive.
What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about blogging?
My favorite thing about blogging is inspiring others to celebrate life and make it memorable!
My least favorite thing is editing photos.
Tell me with only 20 words, 20 things you love.
What is the one recipe you are most often asked to share? Please share it with us!
My mom’s famous Rainbow Layered Jello was requested for every family gathering. It wouldn’t be a Thanksgiving or family party without it. But it’s also super fun for any holiday by using holiday specific colors like red and green for Christmas or orange, green, and purple for Halloween.
5 favorite beauty products, right now… what are they?
I’m super simple (or lazy) when it comes to hair and make-up so you’ll get 3 from me. I love my flat iron, Suave Moroccan Oil , and lip gloss from Forever 21.
What’s your personal mantra(s)? Something you tell yourself on a regular basis?
You can do anything, but not everything. Focus. And Life is Long (meaning I don’t have to do everything now!)
What movie made you laugh more than any other?
Madagascar 2. Silly, I know. But true.
If you could recommend one family vacation, what would it be?
San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State. I’m already counting down the days we can go back.
What goals are you currently working on?
1. Trying to simplify my life so that I can spend time doing what I love.
2. Working on a project that will benefit moms with cancer. I’ve always wanted to give back. So stay tuned because I’d love your help.
