BEST HOMEMADE PIZZA SAUCE

Homemade pizza sauce can seem complicated to make, but not any more! This no-fail, no-cook pizza sauce recipe is going to change your life. That may sound dramatic, but really, this homemade sauce is one of those recipes that will become a favorite. In fact, my mother in law gave us this recipe 12 years ago and it is still the only pizza sauce recipe we use.

When you want pizza, but don’t want to go to the store for sauce, no worries. All the ingredients in this recipe are shelf-stable, pantry ingredients. So it’s easy to keep all the ingredients on hand and then you can always have fresh pizza sauce.

Since Friday nights are pizza nights at our house, this sauce always makes an appearance when we make homemade pizza. It’s perfect for our holiday pizzas and make-your-own pizza nights

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE PIZZA SAUCE

This homemade pizza sauce is so quick to make. Got 3 minutes? That’s all it will take.Simply throw all the ingredients into a blender and viola, you’ve got fresh pizza sauce. (I use a Vitamix blender, but any blender should work.)

Use this sauce recipe to spread on 2-3 large pizzas or individual pizzas, and then save the rest in the refrigerator for up to one week.

This homemade pizza sauce also freezes incredibly well. I often make a double batch and freeze the extras into small bags so pizza nights can be quick and effortless.

Making your own pizza sauce will also save you money. A jar from the store will cost you almost $2. This recipe costs less than $1 to make and you get 2x as much!

  • Already-made pizza crust found in refrigerated section of Trader Joe’s or Winco (for only $1.50!)
  • French bread sliced in half
  • Homemade pizza crust
  • Pitas like these
  • Tortillas
  • English muffins

NO-FAIL RECIPE

You really can’t mess this recipe up. It is so forgiveable. After following the recipe, you can easily add more spices to your liking. You can also add more sugar if you want a sweeter sauce. Want it thinner? Add a bit of water. Want it thicker? Drain the juice from the tomato can and add back in what you want. Really, you can’t mess this up! And that’s why you are going to love this no-cook pizza sauce recipe.
