Create your own slider burger bar with these fun ideas! Plus lots of great tips to keep your party simple!
Love Burgers? Have a slider party!
Can I tell you about the most fun party we had for my husband’s birthday this year? He can never decide what type of hamburger to order because of all the delicious toppings. So he, yes, that’s right, HE came up with the idea to have a mini hamburger aka slider bar party for his birthday.
He didn’t have to twist my arm. I had a blast putting this all together. Truth be told though, it was really quite easy. I had the checkered paper stashed away from last summer and whipped up the food flags. It was simple, but oh so much fun. We ate and ate and ate. Because they are mini, you can do that sort of thing. 🙂
The next time you need a fun dinner party idea, have a Slider Party! Here’s how:
Fire up the Grill
You can purchase already made sliders at some butcher shops, but if you can’t find them, easily make your own by smashing ground beef into small burger shapes.
Then fire up the grill and grill like you would a regular hamburger!
The key to a slider party is getting to try lots of combinations.
Slider Party Supplies
You’ll definitely want to slider buns. I found these at Trader Joe’s for inexpensive, but you could also look at your favorite bakery.
Sometimes slider buns are tricky to find, so if you do come across buns this size, pick them up and freeze them. You can pull them out when you’re ready to use.
Cute sandwich picks are totally optional, but they will make your dinner seem more like a party. To make these easy toppers, use wrap your favorite washi tape around a toothpick. Then cut to desired shape and length. Easy peasy.
If you don’t have time to create your own food picks, these sandwich picks are really cute!
Red and white checkered basket liners make a fun statement as well! Whether you serve sliders on a plate or in a basket, the red and white pops of color take your party up a notch!
Slider Burger Bar Toppings
All the fun of a DIY burger bar is getting to create your own combinations! Set out tons of your favorite burger toppings and get creative!
Here’s some topping ideas:
- sauteed onions
- Swiss cheese
- tomato ketchup
For fun presentation, place all your slider toppings into mini clear bowls. I found these at Dollar Tree!
Once your burgers are grilled and your toppings are all set out, it’s ready to create your own sliders! The possibilities are endless….
Slider Bar Party Tips
I told you this party was really quite simple and didn’t require much more effort than a regular dinner would take, but here’s a few suggestions to make your party even simpler:
- Use pre-made slider buns (these were from Trader Joes)
- Save yourself from last-minute stress by chopping up the toppings the morning of the party.
- Wrap the table in butcher paper for easy clean-up.
