SLIDER BAR PARTY FOR ALL YOU BURGER LOVERS!
Are you looking for a super fun way to enjoy hamburgers? Have a slider bar!
Let me tell you about the most fun party we had for my husband’s birthday. He can never decide what type of hamburger to order because of all the delicious toppings. So he, yes, that’s right, HE came up with the idea to have a mini hamburger aka slider bar party for his birthday.
He didn’t have to twist my arm. I had a blast putting this all together.
Keep reading for my best tips for creating your own Slider Bar Party! (It’s easier than you think!)
SLIDER BAR SUPPLIES
The possibilities are endless for your burger bar, but you will need the following to make it turn out well:
- Grill (if you don’t have an outdoor grill, try using a George Foreman)
- Slider patties (buy them in sliders or form them yourself)
- Slider buns
- Paper plates
PREP THE TOPPINGS
Many of the toppings can be prepared in advance so that you don’t have to worry about it right before.
- Bacon-cook the bacon the morning of and then reheat.
- Onions- saute and reheat
- Mushrooms- saute and reheat
- Cheese-slice all the cheese or buy pre-sliced cheese
- Lettuce- Wash and shred
Put all the toppings in their own bowls to make it easy to see!
FIRE UP THE GRILL & YOUR TASTE BUDS
Once you’re ready to party, fire up the grill and cook the burgers just like you would a regular hamburger.
You can purchase already made sliders at some butcher shops, but if you can’t find them, easily make your own by smashing ground beef into small burger shapes.
Then fire up the grill and grill like you would a regular hamburger!
WHERE TO GET SLIDER BUNS
Sometimes slider buns are tricky to find, so if you come across them, buy them and freeze them. You can pull them out and thaw when you’re ready to use.
Trader Joe’s and some grocery stores have them.
DIY SANDWICH PICKS
Cute slider picks are totally optional, but they will make your party super festive!
To make your own: wrap your favorite washi tape around a toothpick. Then cut to desired shape and length. Easy peasy.
If you don’t have time to create your own food picks, have these picks delivered straight to your doorstep!
Red and white checkered basket liners make a fun statement as well! Whether you serve sliders on a plate or in a basket, the red and white pops of color take your party up a notch!
SLIDER BURGER BAR TOPPINGS
All the fun of a DIY burger bar is getting to create your own combinations! Set out tons of your favorite burger toppings and get creative!
Here’s some topping ideas:
- sauteed onions
- Swiss cheese

For fun presentation, place all your slider toppings into mini clear bowls. I found these at Dollar Tree!
TIME TO START CREATING
Once your burgers are grilled and your toppings are all set out, it’s ready to create your own sliders! The possibilities are endless….
WHAT ELSE TO SERVE WITH THE SLIDERS:
I told you this party was really quite simple and didn’t require much more effort than a regular dinner would take, but here’s a few suggestions to make your party even simpler:
- Use pre-made slider buns (these were from Trader Joes)
- Save yourself from last-minute stress by chopping up the toppings the morning of the party.
- Wrap the table in butcher paper for easy clean-up.
