BEST PEANUT BUTTER BARS
Sprinkles make everything festive, right? That's why today I'm going to show you how to turn ordinary Peanut Butter Bars (you may call them peanut butter fingers) into the most festive little treats for Valentine's Day.
That is, if they can last that long. We made a giant pan of these goodies and they were gone the same day.
Oops. Our secret, okay?
When you've got to feed a crowd, bar recipes are the way to go!
My go-to bar recipe is this Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar recipe (one of THE most popular recipes on this site!), but the recipe for these Peanut Butter bars is right up there!
HOW TO MAKE PEANUT BUTTER BARS
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Peanut Butter Bar recipe (below!)
- Large cookie sheet- a baker's half sheet. (I always use this one!)
- Valentine's Day sprinkles
- Heart cookie cutter
DIRECTIONS:
Making this peanut butter fingers recipe is so easy! Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, combine the wet ingredients. Add the dry ingredients one at a time.
Grease a large cookie sheet and spread the peanut butter cookie batter the cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Once the bars are cooled just slightly, spread a thin layer of peanut butter on the crust. Carefully spread a layer of chocolate frosting on top of the peanut butter.
At this point, you can let the cookie bars cool completely or pop them in the fridge to speed up the process.
TO MAKE PEANUT BUTTER BARS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY:
If you want a festive Valentine's Day cookie, use a heart cookie cutter to cut peanut butter fingers.
Sprinkle your favorite red, white and pink sprinkles on top. Store in an airtight container until you are ready to serve.
And then don't forget to add red, white, and pink sprinkles!
HOW MANY DOES THIS PEANUT BUTTER BARS RECIPE MAKE?
This recipe will make a baker's half sheet (13x18" pan.) You will lose a little by cutting into hearts. Just keep the cuts close together to maximize the amount you get!
If you want thicker bars, you can definitely make a 9x13 pan. However, you won't get as many, especially if you cut the bars into hearts.
