    Airplane Birthday Party Ideas

I had SO much fun putting together my one year old's first birthday party.  The whole thing was based off of this little saying . . .

    airplane1 this awesome idea!

    Airplane Themed Birthday Party Decorations

We took the airplane theme and ran with it.  I got a few wooden airplanes from the craft store and painted them red and blue.  I made the clouds out of paper, stuffing, and staples and then we hung them all up outside above the food table with fishing line.

I whipped up this airplane birthday theme garland by sewing together card stock airplanes in the colors I picked for the party. . .

    Airplane Birthday Party Food Ideas

We kept the food light and simple with some homemade garden salsa and chips, raspberry lemonade and water, and of course airplane birthday cake!

I always make my boys a birthday shirt to go along with their birthday theme.  Braddock's sporting his airplane shirt that I made with an airplane stamp I found at the dollar store . . .

And one of my favorite parts of the day was the cake.  I made a smash cake for the birthday boy, and one to serve our guests.  I made some mini paper clouds and kept one of the wooden airplanes to go on top.  Using wooden skewers I was able to just stick them right into the cake.  They turned out really cute and fun.

And the best part of the day was watching my little guy devour his cake. . .
