Favors are just fun. There isn't any other way to put it. Who doesn't love to come away from a party with a little something something?
Here's a few things we've learned about favors:
-Put together party favors before the party to avoid the last-minute stress. Don't ever do party favors if they cause extra headache for you! Parties are about fun! If you are running around like crazy barely getting everything else together, simplify, and don't bother with favors.
- If possible, have your party favors go along with your theme. These favors were for a "Splish Splash Birthday Bash". Picking favors that go along with your theme will make it easier to know what to include!
-Make your party favors clever, but wanted. Pickled pigs feet might go along with your barn-yard theme, but who wants to take Pickled Pigs Feet home? Not us. Pick a favor that your guests will actually like. Make sure they're fun. People should love them when they receive them at the end of your party so that they leave happy. One of the things that make for great party favors is small toys. So if you've got a party of kids that are into skateboarding, for example, get them a nice fingerboard each to play with. They would really appreciate it, definitely more than Pickled Pigs Feet.
-Don't go to all the trouble of favors for guests who won't appreciate them. Don't have favors for a men's football party, but if you are having a child's birthday party, then favors are a must! Kids will definitely appreciate them.
When should you give the favors?
-If you are having a sit-down dinner, have the favors sitting at each place setting. Incorporate them into place cards.
-If the party is an open house or you have a schedule of activities, give the favors at the end of the party as guests are leaving.
