Welcome class to Party Planning 101: The elements of easy party planning & entertaining.

You are officially enrolled into a 26-week course that is going to take you through all the basics of party planning and entertaining.

You are going to learn:
–About the elements that can make your party awesome and successful
–Ideas on how to keep things simple and easy (since you probably wear lots of different hats)
–That party planning and entertaining can be done on a budget, with limited time and resources and
–That YOU can do it!– Even if you have never done it before or feel overwhelmed at the thought of it.

Let me introduce you to your teachers for this year: Mel and Marcelle

marcelle and i

We were college roommates clear back in 2003 and became fast friends through spontaneous dance parties, late-night desserts, planning our world travels, and long runs. You’ve already heard enough about me (or read it here) but here are a few tidbits about Marcelle.

Marcelle graduated with a Bachelor’s degree of Fine Art and is a photographer specializing in portraits of couples. She loves photographing LOVE! She also enjoys any excuse to throw a party (which is a big reason we are such good friends!). It’s a toss up whether planning the party or executing it is her favorite part. Mama of 2 adorable kids which is the best job ever. On the top of her bucket list is a trip to Greece with her husband (and of course her camera). You can read more about her favorite things on her website marcellecalder.com

Earning an A+ in this course will be easy. All you need to do is come back each Monday for the new element of the week. There may be pop quizzes here and there, but if you come to class regularly, you’ll pass with flying colors. And there might just be some extra festive prizes for the top achievers. Hint hint.

See you on Monday for your first lesson!
