    EASY THREE AMIGOS COSTUME

Looking for 3 person Halloween costumes? Look no further. This three amigos Halloween costume is not only super fun, but also simple to put together!

By far my favorite family Halloween costume we have done to this point has been our 3 Amigos Costumes. With just a little planning ahead, we were able to find all of our costume pieces at thrift stores and spent only $20 total for all 3 of us!

Want to make your own 3 Amigos Costumes? Here's how you can do it on a budget.

DIY 3 Amigos Costume for Halloween

3 AMIGOS COSTUME SUPPLIES - NO SEW!

    • sombreros, large for adults, small sombrero for babies/children
    • white button-down shirt
    • red fabric
    • black pants
    • black jackets
    • glitter glue
    • black spray paint

HOW TO MAKE THREE AMIGOS COSTUMES - JACKETS AND PANTS

For your 3 amigos costume, you'll need black pants and a black jacket. You won't be able to use these again, so make sure you buy some from a thrift store.

For the jackets, you want one with a collar, but without a zipper. It's highly unlikely you'll find one like this, so just cut along the edge of the zipper to remove it like this:

The 3 amigos jackets are short, so you may need to trim off the bottom of yours as well.

Using glitter glue (see note below), create a design along the zipper and bottom edge of the jacket.

Repeat this same design along the outer sides of the black pants starting at the top and working all the way down.

HOW LONG DOES THE GLUE TAKE TO DRY

Plan on letting the glitter glue dry for a few days so it's nice and hard. Don't wait until the last minute to do this or your 3 amigos costumes will not be done.

Also, I don't think you can wash these Halloween costumes after they have been glued. I never tried, but keep that in mind. If you need to wash, just spot clean or dry clean.

HOW TO SAVE BIG ON GLITTER GLUE

You will need a lot of glitter glue for your three amigos Halloween costume.  Glitter glue is expensive. But you can make your own using the following method:

Take one large bottle of silver glitter and mix with Elmer's type school glue in a large bowl. Don't be shy with the glitter!

Then scoop the glue back into the glue bottle or use a frosting piping bag. Create the design immediately or store the glue in an air-tight container.

    3 AMIGOS COSTUMES- SOMBREROS

For the sombreros, I found all of ours at a thrift store. Of course, they were brown to begin with, but it's nothing a little spray paint can't take care of.

Spray the sombrero with black paint and let completely dry, about 1 hour.

Then using glitter glue, create a fun design around the top edge. Again, be sure to do this with plenty of time to let the glue completely dry.

    DIY 3 AMIGOS COSTUMES- CUMMERBUNDS

Every amigo needs a red scarf tie and cummerbund as the finishing touch.

Cut a 2" wide piece of red fabric for the necktie and then cut to fit. I didn't sew this and it stayed just fine!

To make the cummerbund, cut a 5-6" piece of red fabric. Starting in the front, wrap the piece around to your back and tie it off. Again, no sewing and the tie is hidden by the jacket.

And no you have your complete 3 amigos outfit!

My husband and I were watching "The Three Amigos" tonight and he said that's what we should be for Halloween next year (we have a 3 year old son). Where did you get your costumes?????
